Justin Gray is an award-winning producer, mixing engineer, and mastering engineer based in Toronto, Canada. A recognized innovator in the field of immersive audio, Justin collaborates with artists, producers, and labels around the world to realize their music in Dolby Atmos. His studio, Justin Gray Sound, is one of Canada’s first immersive audio facilities designed for music production, setting a benchmark for spatial music production.
Over the course of his career, Justin has worked across a remarkably wide range of genres with artists such as Olicia Rodrigo, Snoop Dogg, The Tragically Hip, Brandy, Mother Mother, Karan Aujla, Mae Martin and Josh Ross, as well as major labels including Universal Music, Sony Music & Warner Music. His work has earned multiple accolades, including multiple RIAA Platinum & Gold certifications and a 2022 Juno Award for Best Jazz Album.
Justin Gray’s latest release, Immersed, is a cinematic visual album composed, recorded, and produced for immersive audio. Justin crafted each piece to unfold around the listener, capturing every layer with immersive recording techniques that position each sound purposefully within a three-dimensional soundscape.
At Sonic Days 2025, Justin Gray will share his extensive knowledge and experience in immersive audio through the sessions “Music Creation and Production for Cinematic Playback” and “Dolby Atmos Music Creation and Production.” Drawing on his background as both a producer and educator, Justin will discuss creative approaches to sound, production techniques, and the artistic possibilities emerging from new spatial audio formats.
