We’re beyond excited to announce that James Mather & Tormod Ringnes is joining Sonic Days!
James is an Oscar-winning UK Sound Supervisor and re-recording mixer. His work is all about storytelling through sound and vision — something he has mastered in close collaboration with legendary filmmakers like Sir Kenneth Branagh (Belfast), David Yates (Harry Potter), and most recently Christopher McQuarrie and Tom Cruise, where he won the Academy Award for Best Sound on Top Gun: Maverick.
With a career spanning everything from intimate dramas to epic blockbusters, James continues to push the boundaries of how sound shapes the way we experience stories on screen — and now he’s bringing that experience and passion to Sonic Days!
Tormod is a Supervising Sound Editor, Re-Recording Mixer and Sound Designer. Tormod has shaped the sound of award-winning films like Flee, Kon-Tiki and Headhunters, as well as Hollywood blockbusters including Maleficent and Pirates of the Caribbean. He’s currently
leading the sound on Disney’s upcoming Tron: Ares.
