Article from MPSE

We’re excited to share that MPSE has just published an article in MPSE Wavelength, the official quarterly publication of the Motion Picture Sound Editors, highlighting the 2024 Sonic Days conference, and we’d love to give you a quick overview of what it covers!

The MPSE-sponsored main theatre took center stage, hosting in-depth discussions led by renowned sound designers and editors—names like Peter Albrechtsen, Craig Henighan, Johnnie Burn, Shelley Rodan, and Leslie Gaston-Bird, all contributed their expertise. Attendees from across Europe crowded into sessions that broke down award-winning film projects, showcased creative Foley work, demonstrated the latest Dolby Atmos techniques, and illustrated how top-tier sound design can shape stories for film, series, and games.

Beyond the talks, the evenings at Sonic Days included a sound-focused pub quiz and a fully immersive live concert in our student-run pub, both capturing the playful spirit of the conference. Best of all, the entire event was free, fostering a welcoming community atmosphere that connected professionals, students, and aspiring talent alike.

Curious to know more? Check out the MPSE article for the full rundown, and don’t forget to mark your calendar for Sonic Days 2025 on November 19–20. We can’t wait to see you there!
