Inside the song with Valentin Buchwald of Blæst

Valentin Buchwald is bringing his Logic Pro project files to Sonic Days. From the first draft to the multitrack export, he will walk us through how he produces commercial songs and the decisions that happen along the way.

Valentin Buchwald at Sonic Days: How I produce commercial songs (and how you can too!), 18 November, 11:30–12:30, Neumann 3.40, Sonic College, Kolding.

Valentin is a producer, songwriter and bassist in Blæst, which he founded with drummer Lauge Kjærulf. The band was the most-played Danish act on Danish radio in 2025, and Valentin is among the writers behind “Elsker dig så meget”. At Sonic Days, he brings that experience into a practical session about making songs with other people.

Open the project files

In How I produce commercial songs (and how you can too!), Valentin follows the work from idea generation through studio collaboration and post-production to delivery for mixing. He will show the Logic Pro projects from the first draft to the multitrack export session, explaining what he prepared and considered between sessions as well as what happened in the studio.

For songwriters and producers, the project files give those decisions a concrete setting. You can follow how the work develops and consider what might be useful in your own process.

Trusting an idea, listening to other people

Making a song with others means balancing your own judgement with the recognition that someone else may help you make it better. Valentin will discuss that relationship, alongside the expectations of listeners and the industry, and how to think commercially while keeping your artistic integrity.

He is particularly interested in cultivating intuition while keeping a critical ear. How do you trust the feeling that an idea is worth pursuing and still challenge yourself to improve it? That balance runs through his approach to writing, producing and collaborating.

Listen to Blæst before the session

Blæst’s latest EP, BLÆST FOREVER, was released on 19 June 2026. Its seven tracks are a place to start if you are new to the band, or an invitation to listen again with the production in mind. Spend some time with the music, then join Valentin for a look at his working process.

Open BLÆST FOREVER in Apple Music.
