Diversity
Diversity at Sonic Days 2024 – 2026
We believe that creativity thrives in diversity, and thus strive to provide an inclusive education where all students are welcomed and celebrated for their unique perspectives and experiences.
To promote an inclusive and diverse environment at Sonic Days, focusing on increasing the representation of women and other underrepresented groups in the sound industry. By 2026, we aim to achieve at least 40% representation of female speakers and panelists and improve diversity metrics across other minority groups.
Description of Initiatives:
- Networking: We will collaborate with leading organizations supporting underrepresented groups in audio technology and music production to expand our network of speakers and participants.
- Mentor Programs: Initiate mentorship programs that connect experienced industry professionals with new talents to inspire and provide visibility for female role models.
- Guidance for Sponsors: Development of guidelines for our sponsors on how they can work with diversity. This will include recommendations for a diverse representation during the conference and promoting diversity within their organization and at sponsored events.
- Monitoring and Adjustment: Implement an annual publication of our progress towards diversity goals with a breakdown of diversity metrics. This report will be publicly accessible and will detail adjustments based on feedback and outcomes to ensure continuous improvement.
- Educational Initiatives: Partnerships with educational institutions to motivate young women and minorities to pursue careers in audio technology and production.
These initiatives will be reviewed annually to adapt to changing dynamics and feedback from our community.
With these initiatives, we hope to create a more inclusive and representative atmosphere at Sonic Days, which will not only enrich our conference but also positively impact the entire sound industry.
