His session at the event will focus on the growing field of immersive music, in collaboration with our gold sponsor Neumann.
Romanowski has worked in audio mastering for over three decades and was among the early adopters of surround and immersive audio techniques. His ongoing work with companies like Dolby, Sony, and Fraunhofer has included consulting on new tools for immersive audio production.
Beyond his studio work, Romanowski is actively involved in the Recording Academy. He is a Trustee and co-chairs both the National Awards and Nominations Committee and the P&E Immersive Committee. He has also supported initiatives on high-resolution audio and sound education through these roles.
Over his career, Romanowski has worked with a range of artists, including Alicia Keys, Prince, Tom Petty, Bonnie Raitt, Earth, Wind & Fire, and others, as well as on soundtracks for films like Dune, Dr. Strange 2 and Star Wars IV, V and VI. His background includes experience across a variety of genres, from pop and rock to film soundtracks, reflecting the diverse needs of the artists he has worked with.
At Sonic Days 2024, Romanowski and Neumann’s presentation on “An Immersive Musical Journey” will offer an overview of his experiences and practical approaches in this area and provide insights into the technical and creative aspects of immersive sound.
